"Dior Couture" The hardback coffee table book scheduled to be released this December has a beautiful portfolio-style layout featuring over a hundred of the most opulent Dior haute couture gowns ever made. Spanning the entire era of Christian Dior couture, the images were captured by legendary fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier and include iconic designs from the man who started it all as well as his successors Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan and John Galliano. Ingrid Sischy, the former Editor-In-Chief of Interview and Editor of Vanity Fair’s European editions, provides the accompanying text.

Casted as the leading star in Tim Walker’s fantastical porcelain world, Sasha conveys a beautifully fragile dimension that is fitting of stylist Kate Phelan’s dramatic focus on spring’s crisp white garments.

My favorite model Sasha Pivovarova is no stranger to Vogue Italia... with multiple covers and countless editorials this year, it’s clear to see why the people over at Italian Vogue haven’t tired of the Russian beauty. For the magazines November issue, Sasha was photographed by the amazing Craig McDean and styled by Edward Enninful in this gorgeous editorial “It’s A Matter of Glam”. The lengthy editorial features costume and wig changes which showcase Sasha’s chameleon-like abilities.

Fashion labels, magazine and consumers feeling the crunch from the recession W taps into the worst fear of every fashionista - the moment when designer obsession leads to dire straits. In September’s fashion blow out Sasha Pivovarova plays the world’s chicest vagrant as she camps out on the streets in little more than torn bags from luxury stores. Alex White‘s creative styling turns a Dior shopping bag into a little white dress and Craig McDean’s slick photography makes the whole affair strangely compelling but given the sad state of things this ironic editorial isn’t entirely far fetched.
