Dior Couture.....

"Dior Couture" The hardback coffee table book scheduled to be released this December has a beautiful portfolio-style layout featuring over a hundred of the most opulent Dior haute couture gowns ever made. Spanning the entire era of Christian Dior couture, the images were captured by legendary fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier and include iconic designs from the man who started it all as well as his successors Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan and John Galliano. Ingrid Sischy, the former Editor-In-Chief of Interview and Editor of Vanity Fair’s European editions, provides the accompanying text.

Galliano Unleashed a Storm....

Paris Fashion Week began yesterday, and with all of the beautiful clothes on show there was only one thing anyone could talk about. French haute couture house of Christian Dior, credited with putting Paris fashion back on the map is now rocked in scandal. John Galliano, the flamboyant British fashion designer at the helm of the luxury label, and a man known for his over-the-top runway collections was fired after a drunken bar episode and a nasty collection of anti-Semitic insults.

The dismissal of Galliano marks one of the most dramatic designer flameouts in fashion history, and interrupts a spectacular career, and truly robs fashion of one of its greatest showmen. It could also set in motion a reshuffling of designers at the highest levels of international fashion, as one of the most coveted and high-profile jobs in Paris is suddenly up for grabs.

The fast-moving chain of events began Thursday night when Galliano was arrested in the Paris bar La Perle, accused of hurling anti-Semitic insults at a nearby couple in an alleged violation of French laws designed to curb anti-Semitism. Dior, where he's worked for nearly 15 years, suspended him Friday pending investigation. On Saturday, another woman came forward with a similar complaint. And on Monday, video began surfacing on the Internet apparently showing an earlier incident involving Galliano, who appears to be drunk, taunting two off-screen women, saying he "loved Hitler" and that their ancestors should be "gassed … and dead."

The controversy's repercussions reached around the world to Hollywood, where Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman — the celebrity "face" of Miss Dior Chérie perfume, issued a strongly worded statement disassociating herself from Galliano.

Francisco Lachowski for Galliano Spring 2011.....

John Galliano’s delivers a new skater-inspired collection that I'm totally in love with for the Galliano Spring 2011 lineup. With Francisco Lachowski and Jacquelyn Jablonski as stars the mix matched pieces of bold colors and offbeat proportions delivers a hip young eclectic style.

I'm love these photos from the new V Magazine Issue #61 which hit newsstands September 1st. The supermodel lived with the gypsies over the 2-day shoot in Cornwall, England. Some of the pieces Kate wears in the photos are Isabel Marant, Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony, Kenzo, John Galliano, Stefanel and Dsquared, photographed by Iain McKell and styling by Karen Langley.
